Striped Marlin Running Hot!

Castille has arrived to find a hot run of striped marlin at Port Stephen’s. Conditions have been fair to rough and back to fair but that has not stopped the action. The last 3 days has seen Castille released 21 striped marlin all around the 80kg mark. That’s a lot of fun! We have some dates still available for those who want in on the action. First Sat Tag has popped up.

Castille off to Port Stephens.

The Team Castille III will be off to Port Stephens mid February to April.

The fishing off Port Stephens is very exciting and my best day is 17 marlin in one day.

We are taking bookings now if you are interested in fishing this fantastic fishing spot.

Castille 3 mainly switch baits for the marlin and with the 4 HDD camera’s we will get some amazing footage for you all to take home.

The Castille has the Luhr’s tournament free on the 18th and 19th of February and also the Interclub which ids the Biggest Tournament in Australia.

The dates for the Interclub are February 25 and 26 and March 3 and 4.

Blues are biting off the Gold Coast

The Marlin fishing has been great on the Gold Coast since we have returned from Cairn’s.

We have caught blue marlin each time we have been fishing.

Castille III Tags another Big Marlin with Satilite Tag.

Fishing on Number 10 ribbon reef angler Bill Borkan from Miami Florida Tagged a 900 pound Black Marlin with a satilite tag.

The fish was very healthy when released.

Bill has been fishing in Australia since 1988 when he fished on the Kamari with Geoff Furguson and myself.

Bill had a great 5 days fishing. We released 12 Black Marlin and also caught a 100 pound dog tooth tuna which was also Bill’s biggest.

Thanks Bill for fishing with us and see you next year.

Bill’s fish were 900, 850,700,600,500,450,350,350,300,250,200 and 150 pounds.

Big season on the reef

There’s been plenty of great fishing for the team on Castille since the last update–from fishing Osprey Reef with Step and Mark Ripper (blue and black marlin) and our latest trip fishing with Bill Borkan out of the Lizard Island Lodge where we’re up to 10 giant black marlin four days fishing including some good quality fish at 600, 700, 850 and 950lbs!! Bill also fought a fish that Capt. Dean estimated at 1100lbs.

Satellite tagged 850lb black marlin

Team Castille released another big fish on Day 5 of the Lizard Island Tournament yesterday tagging a solid 850lb-er for Chris Caron with a satellite tracking tag. The fish gave an awesome aerial display and Tara took these great photos — you can see the satellite tag on its side. The satellite tags track the movements of the fish over the next several months including distance travelled and depth. We can’t wait to see where this big girl ends up!

Day 1 Lizard Island Tournament

Well the weather is great and it is day 1 of the Tournament. Good luck to everyone. There are 22 boats and ready to start at 11 am.

Castille III’s First charter for Cairns season. Big Dog tooth.

We started our first charter with a South Africian familly.

Barnie, Barnie junior and mum Bonny Barnard.

The Giant trevally fishing was a bit slow but we ended up catching a few nice ones and some nice trout.

But for the son BJ. He caught a dog tooth tuna about 150 lbs. he was only fishing 15kg and the Australian record was 130pound.

Thanks to the Barnards we had a great time fishing with them.

Castille III Runner up in Innisfail Tournament

THe weather has been great and we fished the Innisfail tournament last Friday to Sunday.

Our anglers were Ben Heath and Anthony Genocchio.

The winning boat was Jim an I.

We caught 2 from 4 sailfish.
